Chitral, Dec 6, 2025: A man was arrested with over 22 litres of homemade liquor by the Lower Chitral police, a spokesman said in a statement on Saturday.
“Lower Chitral Police have initiated a comprehensive and intensified crackdown against drug dealers following the strict directives of the newly appointed District Police Officer (DPO) Riffat Ullah Khan (PSP), who has emphasized zero tolerance toward narcotics across the district, ” said the statement.
On the first day of this special campaign, it added, a dedicated police team led by SDPO Bumburet Circle Ahmed Essa and SHO Rumbur Police Station Abdul Wakeel, conducted a raid acting on credible intelligence provided by an informant.
During the targeted operation, the police recovered 22.5 litres of locally brewed liquor from the possession of Hakeem Muhammad, a resident of Barankoro, Rumbur Valley.
The suspect was taken into custody on the spot and was being probed.
Reaffirming their resolve, the police stated their ongoing commitment to ensuring a safer and drug-free society for all residents.
