RAWALPINDI:, Dec 5, 2025: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has stated that a particular individual has become a “national security threat,” asserting that no one will be permitted to incite the public against Pakistan’s armed forces.
Addressing a press briefing on Thursday, Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif said the Pakistan Army continues to make daily sacrifices for the security and stability of the nation, yet “one person believes that if he is not in power, nothing else matters.”
He maintained that this individual’s persistent narrative has evolved into a direct threat to Pakistan’s national security framework.
The DG ISPR also congratulated the nation on the formal establishment of the Headquarters of the Chief of Defence Forces, noting that similar defence structures function in dozens of countries around the world. He said the appointment of the Chief of Defence Forces represents a significant step forward in modernising Pakistan’s defence management system, extending his felicitations to all stakeholders.
Reaffirming the military’s apolitical posture, Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif said the armed forces do not represent any regional, linguistic, religious, or political orientation.
“We respect all political parties,” he said, adding that the army neither advances elite agendas nor allows itself to be drawn into partisan conflicts. Political actors, he stressed, must conduct their politics independently and refrain from dragging the military into political controversies.
He warned that if anyone targets the armed forces for personal or political motives, “a firm and comprehensive response will be taken.”
He added that no individual or group would be allowed to create divisions between the Pakistani people and their armed forces.
“It will absolutely not be allowed for anyone to provoke the public against the Pakistan Army,” he said.
Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif further alleged that after meetings with this individual in jail, a sustained sequence of anti-army messages has been emerging on social media. He claimed the individual has encouraged overseas Pakistanis to halt remittances and has, at times, attempted to influence international financial institutions such as the IMF.
Despite these efforts, he noted, the Pakistan Army has continued to stand firm against adversaries “whose economies and militaries are eight times larger than Pakistan’s.”
He added that when members of the political party associated with this individual are questioned, they deny knowing where these anti-army narratives originate. Referring to a recent social media post, he described it as part of a coordinated online campaign.
“This mentally unstable person tweeted two days ago, see how the narrative is crafted,” he remarked. He alleged that multiple overseas accounts, including those based in the UK, amplify such posts within minutes or hours, adding that many of these accounts are anonymous and operated from outside Pakistan.
According to the DG ISPR, the individual’s key facilitators include segments of the Indian media and social media networks linked to India’s intelligence agency, RAW. He further claimed that Afghan social media accounts are also active in promoting similar content, describing them as supporters of extremist elements.
