Chitral, Nov 29, 2025: A farewell ceremony was held at the Police Lines Lower Chitral for outgoing District Police Officer (DPO) Iftikhar Shah who has been transferred from the district.
The ceremony was attended by senior police officers, including SP Investigation Muhammad Shafi Shafa, SP Elite Force Atiqur Rehman and others.
Speaking on the occasion, officers paid tribute to DPO Shah for his exemplary leadership as the head of Lower Chitral police. They acknowledged his dedicated service, professionalism and positive contributions towards maintaining law and order in the district.
DPO Shah expressed gratitude to ulema, people of Lower Chitral and the police department for their cooperation during his tenure. He described his posting in Lower Chitral as one of the best periods of his service. He lauded the performance of all officers and personnel serving in the district and expressed confidence that the Lower Chitral police would continue to play an effective role in crime prevention and maintaining peace and order in the future.
“My best wishes and prayers will always remain with the Lower Chitral police,” he said. He added that the people of the district are known for their honour, humanity, hospitality, respect for the law, and kindness – qualities that make them a source of pride.
At the end of the ceremony, officers presented commemorative gifts to the outgoing DPO as a token of respect and appreciation.
