Sana Yousaf Murder Case: Three More Witnesses Record Statements

ISLAMABAD, Nov 26, 2025: The District and Sessions Court here on Wednesday recorded the statements of three more prosecution witnesses in the Sana Yousaf murder case.

The case was taken up by Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka, with State Prosecutor Raja Naveed Hussain representing the prosecution.

The newly documented testimonies came from the owner of the car showroom accused of supplying a vehicle to suspect Umar Hayat, the driver associated with the vehicle, and a police official linked to the investigative process. Each witness provided key information that the prosecution considers essential to strengthening its case.

Despite their presence in court, the defence side was unable to conduct cross-examination, leaving that phase of the proceedings pending for the next session.

With the inclusion of these three testimonies, the total number of witnesses who have had their statements officially recorded has now risen to 13, marking a substantial portion of the prosecution’s witness list. After reviewing the day’s developments, the court postponed further hearings until December 6, giving both sides additional time to prepare for the next stage of the trial.

The case revolves around the tragic killing of 17-year-old social media influencer Sana Yusuf, who was fatally shot inside her Islamabad home on June 2. The FIR was lodged at the Sumbal Police Station on the complaint of her mother, Farzana Yousaf, under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code. Following a detailed technical investigation, authorities arrested the primary suspect, Umar Hayat, in connection with the crime.
