PESHAWAR, Oct 15, 2025: Newly elected Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Suhail Afridi formally took his oath of office during a ceremony at the Governor House in Peshawar.
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi administered the oath, officially marking the beginning of Afridi’s tenure as the head of the provincial government.
A large number of political and administrative figures attended the ceremony, including Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Provincial Assembly, former Governor Shah Farman, members of the Senate, and members of the National and Provincial Assemblies.
During the ceremony, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi stumbled on the steps while entering the venue due to the crowd, and Chief Minister Afridi also faced some jostling from attendees.
PTI sources stated that party founder Imran Khan has granted Afridi full authority to select his cabinet, and Afridi will form the cabinet from elected representatives and ticket holders.
