Official Match Ball ‘TRIONDA’ Unveiled For 2026 World Cup

ZURICH, Oct 3, 2025: FIFA has officially unveiled the match ball for the FIFA World Cup 2026, named TRIONDA, a technologically advanced and visually striking football designed to reflect the spirit of the tournament’s three host nations — the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Created by Adidas, the TRIONDA blends innovation with cultural symbolism. Its name is a combination of two Spanish words: “Tri” meaning three, and “Onda” meaning wave, representing both the trio of host countries and the ball’s flowing, wave-inspired design.

The ball features a vibrant color palette of red, blue, and green, with each shade symbolizing one of the host nations. Embedded within the design are national icons: a maple leaf for Canada, an eagle for Mexico, and a star for the United States. The overall pattern represents unity and shared identity, reflecting the collaborative spirit of the first-ever tri-nation World Cup.

What truly sets TRIONDA apart is its cutting-edge Connected Ball Technology. For the first time in World Cup history, the ball includes an integrated 500Hz motion sensor, capable of capturing precise movement data in real time. This innovation will significantly assist referees in making faster and more accurate decisions on critical moments such as offside calls and handball incidents.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 is scheduled to take place from June 11 to July 19 across multiple cities in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. This edition marks a historic milestone as the first to be jointly hosted by three countries, with an expanded format of 48 teams participating.
