CHITRAL, Aug 27, 2025: The Lower Chitral police said on Wednesday that it arrested a notorious drug peddler and seized more than 1.2 kilograms of hashish from him.
District Police Officer (DPO) Lower Chitral Iftikhar Shah had ordered strict action against drug trafficking in the district. Acting on these orders, SDPO Bumburet Circle Ahmed Essa and SHO Ayun police station SI Attaur Rehman led the operation. ASI Javed Ahmed and his team stopped a suspect, Amir Sohail, a resident of Thorianda, Ayun. They searched him and recovered 1,284 grams of charas.
Police arrested the suspect on the spot and said he was a notorious drug peddlers. They registered a case and started further investigation to trace his links and networks.
DPO Iftikhar Shah praised the police team for the successful action. He said Lower Chitral police will continue operations until the district is free of drugs. He reaffirmed the force’s resolve: “Our mission is a drug-free Lower Chitral.”
