PESHAWAR: Militants martyred five policemen and injured five others in six attacks across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the police said on Thursday.
The assaults happened almost at the same time in Upper Dir, Lower Dir, Peshawar, and Bannu.
In Upper Dir, gunmen ambushed a police mobile. They killed three officers and wounded three. In Lower Dir’s Lajbook, militants opened fire on a checkpoint, killing one constable.
In Peshawar’s Hassan Khel, attackers stormed a police station. They fought police in a long gun battle. One officer died and another was injured.
In Bannu’s Mazang, militants attacked a checkpoint. Police fired back and forced them to flee.
DPO Bannu Saleem Abbas Kalachi praised the force. He said the officers “stood their ground and drove the attackers away.” The attacks show militants can still strike deep inside the province.

Why our law enforcement people die without check and without any tangible cause. Police in KP province has lost hundreds of jeans and officers but there sacrifices seem going nowhere as those backing terrorists are still active. who will finish them?
