ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has made history. They appointed Arooj Sohail Butt as the manager of the Pakistan Under-17 boys’ football team.
This is the first time a woman has held this position in Pakistan football.
Arooj Sohail Butt works as the Safeguarding Officer at PFF. She holds certifications from FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Her appointment follows FIFA’s policy of promoting equal opportunities for all.
The Pakistan Under-17 team will compete in the upcoming SAFF Championship and Asian qualifiers. Officials believe Butt’s leadership will boost the team’s performance. Her role will inspire more women to join football management.
