Poultry Supply To Chitral Halts After DC’s Orders on Fair Trade

CHITRAL: Poultry has not reached Chitral for three days. All chicken shops remain closed in the markets, local residents told ChitraToday.

The Deputy Commissioner recently ordered suppliers and shopkeepers to sell chicken by weight. He also told them to keep profits low. He warned of strict action for violations.

In protest, what traders call a “supplier mafia” stopped sending poultry to Chitral. They still buy chickens by weight from Rawalpindi and other cities.

Residents now face a shortage. Many still support the DC. “We can live without meat, but the administration must enforce its writ,” said locals. They called for firm action against anyone manipulating prices.
