KARACHI: A group of talented youth from Chitral has joined Team Pakistan, the country’s largest delegation to the upcoming Global Encounters Festival in Dubai, which kicks off this weekend.
The send-off ceremony was held in Karachi, where over 450 young participants from across Pakistan gathered before departing for the international event.
Representing eight diverse regions, including Chitral and Gilgit-Baltistan, Team Pakistan will participate in a wide range of cultural, artistic and sporting competitions. The festival brings together youth from around the world to promote cross-cultural exchange, teamwork and global friendship.
The inclusion of Chitrali youth in this prestigious international festival has brought pride to the region, as local artists and athletes prepare to showcase their talents on a global stage. For many, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to represent both Chitral and Pakistan internationally.
“It’s a proud moment not just for the individuals, but for the entire Chitral region,” said one community leader.
“Our youth are proving that talent from remote areas can shine just as brightly on global platforms.”
The Global Encounters Festival 2025 will feature sports tournaments, cultural performances, leadership workshops and networking opportunities for participants from dozens of countries. Team Pakistan is the largest contingent at the festival, reflecting the country’s commitment to youth development and international engagement.
Organizers and team leaders have emphasized the spirit of unity among participants. Despite coming from different regions, languages, and traditions, the team shares one goal: to represent Pakistan with pride, passion, and excellence.
