GARAM CHASHMA: Police have announced tough action against residents and farmers whose water drainage is damaging roads, especially the National Highway Authority (NHA)\’s Garam Chashma road from Chitral to Shah Saleem.
Following numerous public complaints about erosion and road damage caused by uncontrolled water flow, DSP/SDPO Lutkoh Hassanullah has issued a final notice.
Residents whose household or agricultural drainage harms the road have been given a one-week deadline to improve their systems. Failure to comply will result in legal action under relevant laws.
This order applies to the entire Chitral–Shah Saleem corridor. Police, NHA officials, and local committees will jointly inspect, monitor, and report violations. Strict enforcement will target any location where roadside water flow is damaging infrastructure.
Authorities urge the public to cooperate and address drainage issues to protect vital road links, ensure public safety, and reduce maintenance costs.
