Booni water shortage

DC wants Booni\’s water issue resolved in three days

BOONI: Residents of Booni have been facing an acute shortage of drinking water for the past month, leading to growing public frustration and anxiety.

The crisis is reportedly due to negligence by the Public Health Department and WASEP authorities.

A statement said that Deputy Commissioner (DC) Upper Chitral Haseeb ur Rehman Khan Khail chaired meeting during which locals briefed him about the severe hardship caused by the prolonged water shortage.

The DC issued strict instructions to the Public Health Department to ensure that the problem is resolved within three days.

It was decided that a technical team from the department, accompanied by community members, will visit the main water source to inspect it and identify alternative nearby sources. The aim is to connect a new supply line if needed to restore water delivery and prevent any deterioration of law and order.

The DC asked the department and community representatives to submit detailed recommendations after the field visit so that a permanent solution can be planned.
