CHITRAL: Chitral police recovered 1,841 grams of charas from a poultry shop run by a habitual drug dealer, a spokesperson for the police said on Sunday.
He said that two coordinated operations led to a total seizure of 2.712 kilograms of charas and the arrest of two suspects.
Following a tip-off, a police team led by SHO City Police Station Sub-Inspector Haider Hussain raided the poultry shop and arrested the suspect, Fazal Ahmed, after recovering the over 1.8 kilograms of charas hidden at the premises.
In a separate operation, Afzal Baig and his team apprehended Fakhruddin, a resident of Parabeg currently living in Zargarandeh Chitral, after recovering 871 grams of charas from his possession.
Both suspects are in custody, and further investigation is underway.
District Police Officer Iftikhar Shah praised the swift and effective actions of the police teams and reaffirmed the force’s commitment to eliminating drug trafficking in the region to safeguard public health and safety.
