Bifurcation of Malakand Division

CM decides to bifurcate Malakand Division

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur has decided to divide Malakand Division into two separate divisions.

This decision made at a meeting is aimed at improving administration and solving public problems more quickly, said KP Assembly Deputy Speaker Suriya Bibi.

Malakand Division currently comprises seven districts, including Chitral Lower and Upper.

The Chitral-Dir division will comprise the districts of Upper, Lower Chitral, Upper and Lower Dir and perhaps Bajaur, an official told ChitralToday.

The new setup will consider the population, geography, and development needs of the areas. Each new division will get more focused attention from the government.

The administrative workload will be reduced. Development projects will become faster and more transparent. Public issues will be solved more effectively.

This step is expected to bring better services and governance to the people of Malakand.
