RESHUN: The dangerous and river-eroded road at Shader in Reshun claimed yet another victim when a cement-loaded truck overturned while attempting to ascend the steep and damaged section of the road.
Eyewitnesses told ChitralToday that the truck slipped on the deteriorated surface and flipped over, resulting in significant damage to the vehicle. Fortunately, no lives were lost in the incident.
The road at this location has long been a source of concern for local residents. Its crumbling condition, worsened by erosion from the nearby river, has turned it into a hotspot for frequent accidents. Despite numerous appeals by locals and community activists, authorities have failed to take meaningful action.
Public pressure is mounting once again for the government to immediately repair the road and install proper safety measures, such as retaining walls, warning signs, and guardrails, to prevent future tragedies.
