LOWER KOHISTAN: In a road traffic accident on Karakoram Highway at Mata Banda area of Lower Kohistan, eight members of a family lost their lives after their vehicle plunged into a deep ravine.
The deceased included four children, their parents, and two relatives (women). The family was returning from Gilgit to Rawalpindi when their Suzuki Alto fell into a ravine form a dangerous turn.
Rescue 1122 teams and local volunteers reached the site and began efforts to recover the bodies.
Rescue sources confirmed that all the deceased belonged to one family and were returning to Rawalpijdi after visiting relatives in Gilgit.
