Qaqlasht festival from April 17

Chitral’s famous traditional and cultural festival, Jashn-e-Qaqlasht 2025, will commence on April 17 and continue for four days.
This announcement was made at a meeting of the Jashn-e-Qaqlasht Committee held at Qaqlasht under the chairmanship of Chief Patron Mukhtar Ahmad Sangeen.
The meeting was attended by committee members and sports conveners, although Committee Chairman Prince Sikandarul Mulk could not participate due to personal engagements in Peshawar.
The participants shared suggestions regarding preparations and arrangements for the festival. After detailed discussions, it was unanimously decided to start the festival on April 17, considering the weather conditions.
The committee resolved to involve all stakeholders, including the administration, police, local government, to ensure its success.
A meeting with the Deputy Commissioner of Upper Chitral and Deputy Speaker Suriya Bibi will be held on Friday, April 11 to discuss preparations, security, and other essential matters.
The festival will feature traditional games such as polo, tug-of-war, and cultural shows, while football, volleyball, cricket, paragliding, and literary programs will also be part of the event.
