BOONI: A jeep carrying passengers remained stuck in snow and mud at Kaghlasht in Upper Chitral.
Rescue 1122 said that the jeep was going to Kushum village from Booni when it slipped and stuck in mud during snowfall. Rescue 1122 staffers reached the spot and retrieved the vehicle out of the mud.
Chitral received intermittent rain and snowfall for over 48 hours, triggering flash flooding in streams. Many areas were blocked in both Chitral Lower and Upper. Many people returning to Chitral from different cities to celebrate Eidul Fitr were stranded on way home.
Rain and snowfall continued on Wednesday evening with the Met Office in Islamabad forecasting the wet spell to continue till Thursday.
