Imprint of the beloved by hand of the pen
(A heartfelt open letter from Dr. Shakira Nandini to her readers)
My Dearest and Honored Readers,
As I journeyed along life’s winding paths, there were moments when thorns pricked my steps, and times when the fragrance of blooming flowers filled my way. Yet, the story written on these roads is not just my own; it represents every soul that seeks its identity in the vast, boundless universe. Today, through this letter, I wish to share the musings of my heart with you.
I come from lands rich in culture, where colors, languages, and beliefs blend seamlessly to give life its unique essence. My father belonged to Bangalore, a city he left to settle in Lahore, while my mother hailed from Dhaka. The beautiful confluence of these two heritages became an integral part of my being, sowing seeds of love and harmony in my heart from a tender age. But destiny’s wheel turned, carrying me to the snowy lands of Russia, where my thoughts expanded, and my spirit learned to explore its deepest depths.
At the age of twelve, my parents’ separation marked a turning point in my life. I moved to the Philippines with my mother, where I sought refuge in education and nurtured my talents. Later, I set foot in Singapore and entered the world of modeling. To many, this profession may seem like nothing more than the glitter of flashing cameras, but for me, it became a language — a way to understand myself and others. Every picture, every angle tells a new story, ignites a new emotion.
Today, I serve as the Senior Director of Boom Modeling Agency, guiding and mentoring young aspirants. This is not merely a tale of success but a tribute to those moments when life handed me light in the midst of despair’s darkness. I firmly believe that both art and life transcend all boundaries, and the greatest achievement lies in illuminating them with the light of one’s soul.
Dear friends,
These few lines are not just a reflection of my thoughts but a message to those hearts that have paused under the weight of life’s struggles. If my words can dissolve even a fragment of your sadness, I will consider my pen triumphant. I extend my deepest gratitude to the Chitral Today team, who have provided a platform for my humble writings to reach you. I request only this: if these words touch your heart, shower me with your kindness, and if you sense any imperfection, offer me the gift of constructive criticism. Remember, criticism is the mirror in which one sees their flaws and polishes themselves to shine brighter.
In the end, I simply want to say: Stay happy, spread joy, and create ease for others. Believe me, when you make life easier for someone else, the universe will return the same to you in ways you can’t imagine.
Yours sincerely,
Dr. Shakira Nandini
