Three arrested for murdering Chitrali youth in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: The police in Peshawar have arrested three suspects involved in the murder of a young man from Chitral about four weeks ago.
The police said the suspects had confessed to their crime, and stated that they had entered the victim\’s house with the intention of theft and shot him dead.

According to the police, the suspects were arrested within the limits of Nasser Bagh police station. During the investigation, the suspects revealed that they had entered Abdul Salam\’s house on the night of October 25 with the intention of stealing. However, when the victim woke up, the suspects shot him dead. The police have stated that further investigation was being carried out.

Armed persons barged into the house of Abdul Salam, son of Gulab Khan, at Chitral Colony Peshawar and were stealing solar panels and other items when he challenged them. As a result, the armed men shot him dead and escaped.

Salam was father of three children and worked at Peshawar Saddar, his relatives said. They said despite being informed about the murder police failed to turn up at the site to launch an investigation and arrest the culprits. However, residents of the colony later held a protest demonstration and blocked roads prompting the authorities to launch an investigation that led to the arrest of the suspects.
