Adventure sports festival held at Zaini Pass
BOONI: A Khow cultural festival was held at the Zaini Pass/Terich Aan located at a height of 13,500 feet above sea level, a statement issued by the district administration of Upper Chitral said on Tuesday.
The Khow cultural, adventure festival was arranged by the district administration in collaboration with the youth department and Zaini Pass Sports Club and others for the first time.
The holding of the one-day festival aimed at promoting the indigenous culture and sports of Chitral. Chitral’s traditional games of tug of war, wolf and sheep, Bol Dik, Budi Dik as well as paragliding. About 20 youngsters took part in the three kilometers race competition.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Khalilur Rehman Haseeb said that Upper Chitral is replete with lots of tourism spots which had not been explored for different reasons. He said it was need of the hour to explore these tourist spots and attract tourists towards them.
The deputy commissioner promised to work for including the Zaini Pass/Terich Aan festival in the annual sports events. The DC later distribution awards and trophies among those who participated in the competitions.
