A sudden goodbye

Aqib Ullah

It was 12:30am  when I opened my WhatsApp status and was shocked to see that someone had shared the sad news of the demise of our school friend Fazal Maula from Drosh. He was a hardworking man who ran a mobile shop in the main bazaar of Drosh.
The pain worsened when I learned that he had been shot dead while heading home after a long, laborious day. Fazal was courteous and well-behaved, always known for his diligence from the outset. His journey of hard work began in his school days when he helped his father by working in their shop after school hours. When I last visited him a few months ago, I was overjoyed to see that he had expanded his shop, which was proof that his business was growing.
Killing someone who has worked hard from such a young age is something that no sane person can overlook. A few years ago, such incidents were rare, but in the past two or three years, we have been witnessing an alarming increase in these heinous crimes. The onus is on the police to take these cases seriously and apprehend the perpetrators without ado; otherwise, the peaceful environment of this place will be at risk in the coming years.
I urge the Drosh police and other concerned authorities to expedite the investigation process and arrest the killer of such an innocent soul forthwith. Additionally, they must formulate a proper plan to tackle these escalating crimes.
May Allah grant our brother the highest rank in Jannah.

المناک خبر یے۔ اس درندگی میں ملوث درندوں کو انصاف کے کٹہرے میں لاکر سزا دلوانا ہماری پولیس اچھی روایت رہی ہے۔ یہاں ایسا ہی ہوگا۔
