Flash floods block Mastuj road

BOONI: Flash floods in dry nullahs on Wednesday blocked the Chitral-Mastuj road at Zait and Karak for many hours, stranding travellers on the busy and only artery between Chitral lower and upper.

Flash floods, According to the deputy commissioner Upper Chitral, after getting reports about the road blockade, heavy machinery was sent to the site which removed the debris and opened the road for traffic.

This year, Chitral has sen unprecedented Glofs and flash floods that have damaged at least 15 bridges, four schools and many roads besides private properties. At least seven people were also killed in rain and flood related accidents.
