CHITRAL: A man has been arrested along with his mother and a brother for allegedly murdering his wife and trying to show it as a suicide.
The woman belonging to Khorkashan Deh area of Chitral town was married to Abdullah Khan in Bulawasht, Ayun. Three days ago, the police in Ayun were informed that Farzana Bibi, wife of Abdullah Khan, had committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan in her husband\’s house due to unknown reasons. The dead body of the woman was buried in the village of her parents after a postmortem at the District Headquarters Hospital Chitral.
On the direction of District Police Officer Iftikhar Shah, a team headed by Subdivisional Police Officer Bumburate circle and Drosh police station house officer Bulbul Hassan was formed to probe the case. The team during investigation arrested Abdullah Khan, the husband of the victim, his brother and mother on the charge of murdering the woman and trying to show it as a suicide. Suicide case of woman.
Suicide cases in Chitral has increased in the recent years and most of the victims are young women. Many of the cases reported to police as suicide have turned out to be cold-blooded murder.
In December last year, the father of a 15-year-old girl in Prayit had told police that she allegedly committed suicide by shooting herself with a gun and the same bullet accidentally also killed her uncle in Prayit village of Lower Chitral on the night of December 27.
He had also claimed that the girl was mentally unstable and had left home and reached Chitral town alone and was staying with a relative at Chew Doke. Later, some members of her family came and took her back in a vehicle when she tried to kill herself. Police probed the case and found that the girl had been murdered along with her relative.
