Library & resource centre opened in Booni

BOONI (PR): A library and resource centre was inaugurated at Al Karim Welfare Society in Booni, which includes both digital and conventional resources.

On this occasion, the Chitrali businessman and philanthropist residing in the USA, Mr. Roziman Shah, was the chief guest.

He inaugurated the library and resource centre by cutting the ribbon. He was accompanied by dental surgeon Dr. Iqbal, who also visited the society’s office and the resource centre.

Prominent personalities from Booni, including Shamsiyar Khan (known as Babu Lal), Farman Murad, former President of the Ismaili Council Upper Chitral Amir Afzal Khan, young freelancer Sanaullah, members of the executive committee of Al Karim Welfare Society, and attended the event.

Information Secretary of Al Karim Welfare Society, Sohail Ahmad, welcomed the guests and highlighted Roziman Shah’s contributions, particularly in the health sector.

President of the Society, Manzoor Ahmad, briefed the guests on the society’s aims and objectives.
Project Manager Salahuddin provided a detailed briefing on the ongoing projects.

Library and Information Professional from Charun, MPhil scholar and member of Al Karim Welfare Society Mr. Muhammad Riaz, gave a briefing about the resource centr and said it houses international-standard modern books, including those on psychology, philosophy, science, English and Urdu novels, Islamic history, Pakistani history, and other general materials.

In addition, hundreds of modern materials are accessible through computers, making this resource centre a pioneering effort in Upper Chitral that will benefit students and the general public alike.

Dr. Iqbaluddin expressed his thoughts on the society’s performance, emphasizing the urgent need for a similar resource centre in Lower Chitral, for which the full cooperation of Al Karim Welfare Society is essential.

Finally, the chief guest, Roziman Shah, praised the initiatives taken by Al Karim Welfare Society so far and assured his full support for future initiatives.
