Chitrali woman shot dead by stepson in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: A Chitrali woman was shot dead by her stepson in the public in Peshawar on Thursday.

CCTV footage of the gruesome incident showed a young man moving to three women sitting at a corner of the Dilawar bus stand and shooting the woman twice, one in the head.

The killer ran away after the incident. However, the Ababil squad of the police caught him later.

In the FIR, the deceased woman’s own son said that he along with his mother and two younger siblings was in the bus stand for going to Chitral when his mother was shot dead in front of them. The cause of the murder is yet to be known.

It has been learnt that the deceased woman was from Xang Bazar and was going to Chitral. She was the second wife of a man in Peshawar and her killer was son of the man from his first wife.

In the FIR, the killer was identified as Inam Ali, son of Rehmanullah Peshawar. He was accompanied by an unknown rickshaw driver.

On June 22 this year, a Chitrali youth committed suicide after killing a girl while travelling in a rickshaw in Peshawar. The youth was identified as Gulbadin, son of Zarbe Ali, resident of Arkari in Lower Chitral. The deceased woman was identified as Shakila Bibi, 25,  daughter of Zar Amin of the same area.
