Forest catches fire in Rumbur

CHITRAL: A fire erupted in the forest of Sanjiret area of Rumbur valley, the Lower Chitral police said on Tuesday.

Staffers from the forest department and local people reached the site of the fire and put out the flames. The Lower Chitral police in a statement said that on the direction of District Police Officer Iftikhar Shah personnel from the Rumbur police station reached the forest and took part in the operation to extinguish the fire.

Because of the joint efforts, further damage to the forest was avoided, said the statement.
