Cleric from Owir becomes head of mosque servants’ body

PESHAWAR: Molana Akbar, a renowned teacher from Owir Upper Chitral, has been elected unopposed president of Anjuman Khuddamul Masajid (Association of Mosque Servants), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The election held on Sunday at the Auqaf Department Peshawar marked a significant milestone in the history of the association. Molana Akbar’s opponent, Maulana Yousuf Shah, withdrew from the election, paving the way for his unopposed victory. Qari Ainullah was elected as the general secretary, solidifying the new leadership team.

In his address, Maulana Akbar, who is also member of the JUI-F liaison committee Peshawar chapter, thanked the participants and promised to work tirelessly for the welfare of the mosque servants. He vowed to address the issues faced by the community, ensure their well-being and strive for the betterment of the association. His vision for the future included promoting unity, understanding and progress among the members.

Other officials, including district Khateeb of Hangu Maulana Hafizullah Chitrali congratulated the newly-elected team and expressed their support to them. The newly-elected president and general secretary later announced their cabinet, comprising experienced and dedicated individuals who share their vision for the association’s growth and development.
