Sports festival arranged for prisoners of district jail

CHITRAL: A spring sports festival was arranged for the prisoners of District Jail in Denin on Monday, said the district administration of Lower Chitral.

The festival was arranged by the district sports office. The prisoners took part in volleyball, football, tennis and tug of war games.

Assistant Commissioner headquarters Dr Muhammad Atif Jalib attended the festival as chief guest and later distributed awards among the players.

Speaking on the occasion, he said the objective of the event was to enable the prisoners to participate in healthy activities. He said sports played an important role in making a healthy society.
