Wall collapse kills boy on way to school

BOONI: An eight-year-old boy died after a wall collapsed on him while going to school on Thursday. 

Shahan Ali, a grade 2 student of a private school, was son of Sardar Ali Khan, the principal of Govt High School Khot, Upper Chitral. The boy left home at 7am and was going to school when a wall fell on him. 

Schools in Chitral were closed for Eidul Fitr and later the holidays were extended for three days till April 17. On the first day of the school day, the tragic incident saddened the whole area.

The heavy rain and snowfall for over four days has left the area highly vulnerable to landsliding and flooding. There have been also been reports of house and wall collapse incidents across Chitral.
