Pension payment linked to vacation of govt houses
PESHAWAR: A new policy has been formulated and brought into force by the provincial government to take back official residences from government employees upon their retirement.
Under the new policy, pension will not be paid to the retired government employees until they vacate the residences and submitted the evidence to the departments concerned.
Notices have been issued to all the retired employees who are still occupying officials accommodations to vacate the residences. They have been told that until they submit all the documents related to vacating the government residences, their pension will not be paid to them.
At present, a large number of retired employees are living in government residences, including Civil Quarters Irrigation Colony, Civil Colony and others government premises.
In many quarters, rooms have even been rented out by the retired employees. In the Railway Colony and other areas, government quarters are under the occupation of unrelated persons while many serving employees are facing difficulties to get government residences.
