PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers on Sunday held a rally from Peshawar Press Club to the Peshawar High Court, demanding the release of party founder Imran Khan.
National Assembly Members (MNAs) Umar Ayub, Ali Muhammad Khan and Barrister Gohar Ali Khan also attended the rally. Outside the Peshawar High Court, party leaders addressed the protest during which slogans were chanted.
However, the rally was marred by serious disorder. Barrister Gohar repeatedly requested to allow him to speak while Umar Ayub struggled to obtain the microphone from Sher Afzal Marwat. Amidst the chaos, Barrister Gohar had to leave without completing his speech.
Mr Marwat emphasized the importance of standing up for the release of PTI founder and independence of the judiciary. He pledged to organize rallies to demand Imran Khan’s release. He also asserted PTI’s commitment to upholding the independence of the judiciary.
Chairman PTI Barrister Gohar Ali Khan asserted the validity of PTI’s ideology and Imran Khan’s innocence, dismissing all charges against him as fake. He said the significant turnout at the rally in Ramazan was a testament to PTI’s enduring appeal.
