Missing Chitrali boy found dead

PESHAWAR: A 12-year-old-boy from Upper Chitral, who went missing from Peshawar a day earlier, was found dead in a drain in the Board area of Peshawar located in the jurisdiction of Nasir Bagh police.
Islamuddin, son of Saifuddin, a class 5th student from Balim village of Laspur valley, had gone missing in Nasirbagh area of Peshawar on Sunday night. His dead body was recovered from a drain in the same locality by Rescue 1122 on Monday.
Police said there were no immediate signs of any sexual assault on the body during the initial examination.
“Based on evidence, it appears that the child may have taken his own life. CCTV footage showed the child walking alone towards the drain. The child’s body has been transferred to hospital for a postmortem examination to determine the cause of death. The results of the postmortem examination will provide more information about the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident,” said the police.
