BOONI: Many roads in Chitral were blocked due to the heavy snowfall that started in March 1 and continued for about three days.
After the weather changed, the road blockades continued with rock fall and landsliding.
Today, the road to Torkhow valley of Upper Chitral was blocked after huge boulders fell on it at Deghri area.
The district administration in both Lower and Upper Chitral said that work to clear roads of snow was still ongoing and that landsliding occurred frequently in many areas.
The tehsil council of Chitral, meanwhile, said that 70pc of Garam Chashma road had been cleared of snow and debris and staff was at work to reopen the road.
The Met Office in Islamabad has stated that another wet spell was to start in many parts of the country including Chitral from March 10.
