CHITRAL: District Police Officer (DPO) Lower Chitral Ikramullah Khan on Monday directed the police personnel in Kalash valleys to keep vigil on suspected elements in the area.
During a security checking of the Bumburate police station, the DPO also directed the officials to register cases upon receipt of complaints, said a spokesman for the police.
The DPO also visited a number of checkposts in the area and told the police personnel that being a popular tourist spot a large number of people from across the country and abroad visited Kalash valleys, so the police should facilitate them as much as possible.
The annual spring festival of the Kalash community is underway in the three Kalash valleys of Bumburate, Birir and Rumbur.
During the visit to the area, the DPO along with Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali Khan met the Kalash community members and reviewed security arrangements made by the district administration and the police.
The DPO also visited the dancing place of the community in Bumburate and appreciated the police officials deputy on security duty there.
