CHITRAL: The only basic health unit (BHU) of Kalash valley located at Bumburate was handed over a well equipped ambulance with modern facilities by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
The BHU Bumburate was gifted an ambulance by a minority member of National Assembly two decades ago, but due to lack of maintenance it remained non-functional for many years.
In this regard, a function was held at the BHU Bumburate where Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali was chief guest.
Mohammad Khalil Shaikh, the elected chairman of this valley, while welcoming the guests, highlighted the problems of this area.
Deputy Chairman Luke Rehmat Kailash also mentioned roads, wheat warehouse, internet and other issues.
Abdul Majeed Qureshi, the former chairman, demanded the opening of the road and to start work on it soon.
On this occasion, Bibi Shahra Kalash presented traditional gifts to the guests. The elders of the area complained that the flood in 2015 had caused destruction in the valley but the rehabilitation work was not completed.
Dr. Asad and other staff of the World Health Organization also participated in the event.
