Protest held against delay in Kalash valleys road construction

BUMBURATE: People from the Bumburate, Birir, Rumbur valleys and Ayun held a protest gathering at Broon village against the inordinate delay in start of work on the Kalash valleys road by the government. 

Addressing the gathering, also participated by women of the area and tourists, speakers came down hard on the PTI government for delaying the project even after sanctioning Rs2 billion for it.

They said due to the broken road to the tourist spots, travellers were suffering the most and tourists were avoiding visiting the area.

Though the road project was started in the tenure of the PML-N government in the centre, it still remains in the cold storage.

The speakers said when the government had sanctioned Rs2bn, why section 4 was not being enforced to acquire land for the construction of the road. 

They said all other projects for the Kalash valleys were not that much important compared to the construction of the road and work on it should be started without further delay.–Muhkam Uddin Ayuni
