CHITRAL: The Lower Chitral police have arrested a woman for allegedly defrauding people of Rs5 million on different pretexts, including promising them government jobs.
An official of the city police station said Ms Amina, hailing from Torkhow area of Upper Chitral, was arrested a week ago. He said the woman was impersonating herself as a government official.
The official claimed the suspect had also links with higher authorities of different departments. He said she used to collect heavy amounts from people on the promise that they would be given jobs in government departments.
The police official said the woman also minted money from people by proclaiming to be a spiritual healer.–Zahiruddin (Dawn)
