CHITRAL: A married woman fell into the Chitral river near Ayun and was washed away on Saturday evening, Rescue 1122 said.
The rescuers identified the woman as Fatima, wife of Zar Muhammad.
She had gone to the river at Chilim Lasht to fetch drinking water when she accidentally slipped into the water, said the rescuers.
The rescue staff reached the area and tried to recover the body but the operation was aborted late in the evening.
Rescue 1122 said it would continue the search to recover the body tomorrow.
A few days ago, two daughters of a man from Bajaur, aged eight and 11 years, who had come to their maternal uncle’s home in Hakimabad located in front of Drosh, drowned in the river.
Local people recovered the body of one of the girl at Naghar the same but the body of the other girl could not be traced even after hectic efforts made by Rescue 1122 Chitral.
