CHITRAL: Additional District and Sessions Judge Mohammad Khan Yousufzai handed down death sentence to a man from Damil village of Lower Chitral for killing his elder brother. The court acquitted his sister from the charge.
Drosh police had registered the case against Momin Khan and his sister Yormas Bibi in 2017 under section 302 of Pakistan penal Code (PPC) for killing their brother Mir Alam Khan over a land dispute.
After completion of the proceedings, the court observed that the prosecution had proved the charge against Momin Khan and sentenced him to death. At the same time, the court gave benefit of doubt to his sister and acquitted her from the case.
The court also ordered the convict to pay a fine of Rs600,000 to the legal heirs of the deceased as compensation.
