Plan needed to explore water and tourism resources of Laspur

Laspur valley of Chitral is rich in water resources and tourism potential and there is a need to prepare a plan for exploitation of these resources for the betterment of the area people.

This was stated by Irshad Saboor, a leader of the ruling PTI who also contested the 2018 election for the provincial assembly seat of Chitral.

Mr Saboor was taking to a gathering of Laspur Local Support Organization (LSO) and elected village council nazims in the area.

He said after the Shandur festival he would be again visiting the area in order to prepare a comprehensive strategy for the development of the area. He also said the annual festival of Shandur could be used as an opportunity to create economic activities for the locals.

In this regard, Mr Saboor said a plan would be formulated to work for the promotion of agriculture and explore tourist points and tracks in Laspur.

The LSO representatives demanded that arrangements should be made to dispose of the waste and garbage in the area after the end of the Shandur festival. Mr Saboor promised that he would take up the matter with the district administration.
