Taxi driver detained in house torching case

A taxi driver has been detained by the police in connection with the torching of a house in the Dizg village of Yarkhun on Nov 17, sources told ChitralToday.

Unknown people set the house of Niat Hussain, son of Hussaini, on fire when his family members were asleep inside on the night of Nov 17. When the inmates tried to escape, the door of the house was found bolted from outside.
They managed to save their life by breaking the window of a room and informed the neighbours. A motorcycle and firewood stored outside the house were burnt in the fire but the inmates remained unhurt. 
According to locals, Babu Khan, son of Janan, belonging to the same village, was arrested on the suspicion of the house owner. But the suspect claimed that he was in Chitral town when the incident took place and the Chitral Scouts post at Mastuj bridge had an entry about his exit on Nov 17.
But police took him into custody in Chitral town and obtained his remand and shifted him to Booni.
A police official told ChitralToday that all those involved in the incident would be arrested soon and proceeded against under the anti-terrorism act.
