Rain/snowfall turn weather chilling

DROSH: Intermittent rain continued in across Chitral for the last about 14 hours while Lowari Pass, including mountains on both sides of the tunnel, received light snow and hailstorm. However, there was no report of road closure from any part of the valley.

Because of the precipitation, a cold wave has gripped the whole valley of Chitral, confining the residents to their homes. Rain-thunderstorm (snowfall over the hills) with gusty wind is expected at scattered places in Malakand during the next 24 hours, said the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

It recorded a minimum temperature of five degrees centigrade at Mirkhani, 10 degrees in Drosh and eight degrees C in Chitral town. –Jahan Zeb
