Maulana Chitrali tipped as MMA candidate for NA-1

CHITRAL: Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) has nominated Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) leader Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali as its candidate for NA-1 Chitral, sources said.
They said JI had already decided to field the former MNA but after the revival of the MMA the distribution of seats was awaited.

Now as the MMA has decided to give NA-1 to the JI, Maulana Chitrali will be the joint candidate of the MMA while the provincial assembly seat of PK-1 Chitreal will go to Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI).

The sources said that after the finalization of his name, Maulana Chitrali left Peshawar for filing his nomination papers for NA-1 Chitral.

On the other hand, there has been no decision in the JUI about its candidate for the PK-1 seat of Chitral. A number of aspirants have already applied for the seat. They include former MPA Maulana Abdur Rehman, district naib nazim Maulana Abdul Shakoor, Maulana Hussain Ahmed and Maulana Hidayatur Rehman. The name of Mehtar-e-Chitral was also being considered as a candidate of the JUI. –Muhkam Uddin Ayuni
