Malakand does not come under purview of PSRA

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Private School Regulatory Authority (PSRA) Act has not been extended to the federally administered tribal areas (FATA) and the provincially administered tribal areas (PATA).

As such, private educational institutions in all the seven districts of Malakand Division, including Chitral that constitutes PATA, will not be affected or governed by any decision taken or order issued by the Private School Regulatory Authority (PSRA) till the law is extended to these areas, said the authority in a letter sent to chairmen of all boards of intermediate and secondary education.

It said as long as the Act is not extended to FATA/PATA, the chairmen would continue registering the private schools in these areas.
