Clerics expect release of 22 men very soon

Addressing a press conference, Moinuddin, Shakirullah, Qari Jamal Abdul Nasir, Farooq Azam, Qari Aminulah and others said DC Shahab Hamid Yousafzai had assured them that sections 311 and 324, which they said were non-bailable offences, would be withdrawn against the accused. They also said their meeting with the DPO regarding the withdrawal of terror charges against the 22 men were also fruitful. They said the parents of the 22 people were thankful to all those who had been working for their release. They also said the 22 people were jailed in connection with a religious issue and it should not be used for political point scoring by anyone. They also said a panel of lawyers, comprising president District Bar Association Sajidullah, former president Ghulam Hazrat Inqilabi and Waqas Ahmed Advocate, was  analyzing the legal aspects of the case and on the basis of their opinions further steps would be taken for the release of the prisoners.–Muhkam Uddin]]>
