The main function of the day was held at the Centennial Model School for Boys in the Chitral town. This event was jointly organized by the district administration and the education department. The roads leading to the school as well as the bazaars in the town were decorated with the national flags. The event was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Osama Ahmad Waraich while MPA from upper Chitral Sardar Hussain was the chief guest.
Students taking positions in the SSC annual exam had also been invited to the function. A contingent of the Chitral Levies on the occasion presented salute to the national flag.
