AKU-EB topper reveals her future ambitions.
In a telephonic interview with ChitralToday from her village of Parabek, Naz said: “Belonging to a remote area with much less resources for its inhabitants and lack of awareness regarding importance of education never made my self-confidence and commitment towards my education go down because God has blessed me with a family in which education is given the top most importance and there is no discrimination against girls compared to boys.
\”My parents have supported me in every walk of life and always encouraged me to boost my abilities and keep hope alive. I and my siblings are always provided a learning environment at home which made my brilliant success possible.”
She said after passing class 7 in 2012, she applied for admission to the Aga Khan Higher Secondary School (AKHSS), Kuragh, Chitral, and fortunately qualified the test and interview with good marks. “I got admission at AKHSS Kuragh in 2013. It was really the turning point of my life. Among the many schools and other educational institutions in Chitral, the AKHSS is truly the symbol of quality education. The most qualified teachers here break the traditional methods of teaching and take learning beyond the boundaries of classrooms.
They encouraged us to think critically and make themselves available to students at any time. Their commitment and devotion has always compelled me to work harder and harder and ultimately to achieve this success. Our principal Madam Sultana Bibi with her dynamic leadership has made our school environment more learning and student friendly. I attribute my success to her because she always used to say ‘hard work is the key to success, work hard be outstanding’. Her words motivated me to achieve the outstanding results.”
Ms Naz also said the Aga Khan University Examination Board, with its transparency and excellent syllabus and course outline, had always inspired her and was truly an ideal examination board. It boosts critical learning in students and encourages them to apply their learning in practical life. I am proud to be a part of AKU-EB and would like to thank it for my success. “I would continue my hard work and would like to be a neurologist in future. I also aim to do social work particularly to improve the healthcare and educational systems not only in Chitral but also in whole Pakistan and if possible in other poor countries of the world as well.”
She added: “I believe Chitral has got great talent and potential in the form of its youth. Our youth needs to realize their responsibilities and show full commitment and devotion towards their studies. I as a student humbly suggest them to be focused and work hard to cherish their goals because quality education is the only way to bring change in our country and serve our nation.”
