Relief items sent by PPP chairman distributed

DROSH: Relief items sent by PPP chairman were distributed among the affected people of the recent floods in different areas of Drosh tehsil. 

In this regard, a function was held at the Ursun village. Speaking on the occasion, the affected people said the area was badly affected by the flood on July 2 and the damaged infrastructure was yet to be repaired.

They said they were still deprived of potable drinking water, roads as well as irrigation water due to the destruction of the water channels. The residents said they still had to carry edible items on their back due to the non-repair of the damaged roads.

They said there was no school, no hospital and no college in the Ursun valley. They demanded the early construction of the damaged roads, water schemes, hydro powerhouses as well as establishment of schools, a basic health unit and a college.

Addressing the gathering, MPA Saleem Khan assured the affected people that he would do his utmost to overcome these problems. He announced the establishment of a primary school in the village and Rs1 million for the repair of the link roads of Ursun.

He also announced to release Rs0.5 million for the reconstruction the mosque at Paitasun which was damaged by the flood and Rs0.5 million for the reconstruction of the religious seminary in the same village. Mr Khan also assured the people that a transformer would be provided to the valley. He said he would raise their issues on the floor of the provincial assembly.

Later, the MPA distributed 50 tents, 150 blankets and 150 quilts among the flood-affected people on behalf of the PPP chairman.
